David Reynolds is Professor Emeritus of International History at the University of Cambridge and a fellow of Christ’s College, Cambridge.

He was elected a fellow of the British Academy in 2005. His books include Island Stories: Britain and its History in the Age of Brexit and The Long Shadow: The Great War and the Twentieth Century, which was awarded the 2014 Hessell-Tiltman Prize. America: Empire of Liberty has appeared in an updated edition (2021), with a new chapter on Obama and Trump.
