Zygmunt Haupt

Zygmunt Haupt (1907–1975) was born in rural Podolia and attended boarding schools in Ternopil, Jarosław and finally Lviv, where he graduated in 1924. He earned a living as an illustrator, writer and journalist in Poland, England and the US. The story ‘Die Tauben vom Theodorplatz’ is included in his collection of short stories Pierścień z papieru (The Paper Ring), which was published in Poland in 1963 and written sometime between 1932 and 1939, when Haupt lived in Lviv.
