Daisy Dunn is an award-winning author and classicist who has published widely on a variety of biographical and classical themes. Her works include Catullus’ Bedspread (William Collins, 2016); In the Shadow of Vesuvius: A Life of Pliny (William Collins, 2019); and Not Far From Brideshead: Oxford Between the Wars (Weidenfeld & Nicolson, 2022), which was a Waterstones, the Daily Telegraph and the Independent book of the year. She also regularly writes for the Spectator, the Daily Telegraph and Literary Review, among other publications, and has appeared on BBC Radio 4 and University Challenge. Dr Dunn holds an MA in Literae Humaniores from the University of Oxford, a further MA in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute, and a PhD in Classics and Art History from University College London. She was the recipient of the 2022 Classical Association Prize, in recognition of her efforts to bring classics to the public attention. She is now editor of ARGO, a journal published through the Hellenic Society, founded in 1879.
