Pär Cassel

Pär Cassel has worked and studied in Sweden, China, Japan and the United States, and is an associate professor of modern Chinese history at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is strongly committed to multi-lingual and multi-archival research and is especially interested in historical problems where international relations, institutional history and linguistics intersect. He is currently working on a project on political loyalty in late imperial and modern China.
