Francis J. Gavin

Francis J. Gavin is the Giovanni Agnelli Distinguished Professor and inaugural Director of the Henry A. Kissinger Center for Global Affairs at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. In 2021 he was appointed Ernest May Senior Visiting Fellow of the Applied History Project at the Harvard Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. Gavin’s books include Nuclear Weapons and American Grand Strategy, Wonder and Worry: Contemporary History in an Age of Uncertainty and Thinking Historically: a Guide to Statecraft and Strategy.
