Charlie Gullström (architect SAR/MSA, Dr Tech) is an associate professor of circular economy for architecture and planning at Chalmers University of Technology as well as research and innovation strategist at Sweco Architects. Prior to that, she worked for 20 years as a researcher and research officer at KTH Royal Institute of Technology while also teaching at the KTH School of Architecture. In the 1990s, she developed a respected architectural practice in Stockholm. Among Gullström’s multidisciplinary research interests, she has unique expertise about Léonie Geisendorf, whom she got to know when they together planned and carried out a retrospective exhibition at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm in 1990. Gullström has written a number of articles about Geisendorf and among other activities has taken part as an expert in planning the exhibition to celebrate the architect’s centenary, which was held at the Stockholm Centre for Architecture and Design in 2014, as well as the centre’s new permanent exhibition, which includes Geisendorf’s works and opened in 2024.
