Ali Ansari

Ali Ansari is Professor of Iranian History and Founding Director of the Institute for Iranian Studies at the University of St Andrews. He is Senior Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and President of the British Institute for Persian Studies. His books include Modern Iran since 1797, Iran, Islam & Democracy, and most recently, A Short History of Iran (2024).
