Christopher Landstedt
Author
Christopher Landstedt is a senior lecturer in art history at Stockholm University. He was awarded a PhD in 2023 for his thesis ‘Fester, platser och visuell kultur i Stockholm under den gustavianska epoken’, in which he investigated festivities, masquerades and entertainment between 1772 and 1808 based on both permanent and ephemeral art and architecture that had specific purposes, frequently of a political nature. In 2023, Landstedt was a visiting researcher at the Swedish Institute in Rome after winning a grant from the C. M. Lerici Foundation, pursuing a research project on the architect Carl Fredrik Sundvall. Other ongoing research projects concern the Swedish bourgeoisie’s use of portraits during the country’s Age of Liberty and the sculptor Erik Gustaf Göthe’s study trip to Rome.
