Ernest May (1928–2009) was an American historian specialising in international relations, chiefly American foreign policy.
He taught at Harvard University for 55 years until his death. He also served on the faculty at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. He wrote several books studying historical decision-making in the hopes of illuminating the policy- and decision-making of politicians.
