Fredrik Svenaeus

Fredrik Svenaeus is a professor at the Centre for Studies in Practical Knowledge, Södertörn University, Sweden. His main research areas are philosophy of medicine, bioethics, philosophy of technology and philosophical anthropology. Current research projects focus on existential questions in association with psychiatric diagnoses, ageing and dying. He is the author of more than one hundred scientific articles and seven books on subjects such as the hermeneutics of medicine, psychiatric diagnoses and the phenomenology of embodiment. His most recent book in English is The Hermeneutics of Medicine and the Phenomenology of Health: Steps towards a Philosophy of Medical Practice (2022).
