Author

Frida Rosenberg is an architect and curator of 20th-century architecture at the Stockholm Centre for Architecture and Design. Her research provides an in-depth understanding of the built environment, from the Swedish welfare state’s ‘million housing programme’ to today’s societal challenges by focusing, for instance, on the role of architects and engineers in housing construction and highlighting the importance of women practitioners in the field. In her wide-ranging work, she links architecture to the history of technology and political positions taken on the built landscape, with a particular interest in cross-border relations. One recently published chapter in the book ‘Architecture and Welfare’ emphasises the transfer of knowledge between Sweden and the US. Her current research examines the role of architecture in separating national minorities using 20th-century case studies from northern Sweden.
