Gabriella Beer

Gabriella Beer has a doctorate in the history of religion and has worked as a lecturer at Uppsala University since 2003. She defended her doctoral thesis, Evocatio Deorum: historical and mythical interpretations of ritualised conquests in the expansion of Ancient Rome, in 1999 and has published numerous articles since then on myth and the writing of history primarily in the religions of antiquity. For several years, she has focused on religious themes in late and post-Soviet Russian literature and in 2020 published an article on Vladimir Sharov’s novel Repetitsii.
