Hanna Hodacs

Hanna Hodacs is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of the History of Science and Ideas at Uppsala University. Her main research interests include globalisation processes and historical natural history cultures. In her book Silk and Tea in the North: Scandinavian Trade and the Market for Asian Goods in Eighteenth-Century Europe (2016) she looks at Danish and Swedish trade with Asia. She has also written about botanical expeditions, research expeditions and collecting, with reference to Carl Linnaeus. Her latest research project, ‘Nordic naturalists as fashionistas: Interpreting Taste and Replacing Global Products with Local Ones’, incorporates global and scientific perspectives.
