Hans Ruin

Hans Ruin is professor of philosophy at Södertörn University, Sweden, and helped establish the subject at the university. He led the RJ research programme ‘Time, Memory, Representation’ (2010–16), was lead editor for the three-volume work Historiens hemvist (2016) and a member of the editorial board for the ten volumes of Nietzsche’s collected writings, published in Swedish (Symposion). Ruin’s main research interests are phenomenology, hermeneutics, ancient philosophy, memory studies and the philosophy of religion. His latest books are Being-with-the-dead: Burial, Ancestral Politics, and the Roots of Historical Consciousness (2019), I förnuftets skugga – essäer om Nietzsches filosofi (2021), Herakleitos Fragment (rev. new ed., 2022) and Hegel, Husserl, Heidegger – inledningar till fenomenologisk filosofi (2023).
