Howard Hull has been Director and Curator of Brantwood, John Ruskin’s former home, since 1996. He has curated a large number of exhibitions, historical and contemporary, lectured widely, and contributed to Ruskin scholarship in a broad range of publications. He studied English Literature at Oxford University, before becoming a founding partner of the Support Group, organising numerous festivals and public celebrations. He was Director of Development at the Academy of St Martin in the Fields in the 1980s, a role he went on to play at the Royal College of Art until 1996 when he moved to Brantwood. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Companion of the Guild of St George, Member of the Technical Advisory Group for the Lake District World Heritage Site, and on the Advisory Board of the Centre for National Parks and Protected Places.
