J.B. Bury (1861–1927) was a classical scholar and historian who wrote several books on theory and philosophy of history, Ancient Greece and Byzantine history among other topics.
Bury was Erasmus Smith’s Professor of Modern History at Trinity College Dublin and Regius Professor of Modern History at the University of Cambridge.
