John Scheid

John Scheid was the chair of Religion, Institutions and Society of Ancient Rome at the Collège de France, Paris from 2001 to 2016, where he was also vice chairman from 2012 to 2015. He holds honorary doctorates from the Universities of Chicago and Erfurt, and is a corresponding fellow of the British Academy and a member of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres. He is co-editor of the Revue de l’Histoire des Religions, among other journals.
