Juri Andruchowytsch, born in 1960, is one of Ukraine’s preeminent authors. He is a poet, prose writer and essayist, and translates from German and Polish. Between 1985 and 1992, he was a member of the avant-garde group BU-BA-BU. Many of his texts revolve around the city of Lviv and the myths captured there ‘like in an empty mussel’: Spurensuche im Juli (German, 1995), My Final Territory (2023) and My Europe (2001). Yuri Andrukhovych lives in Ivano-Frankivsk.
