Måns Broo is a senior lecturer in the study of religions at Å bo Akademi University, Finland, where he also gained his doctorate in 2003. His research interests focus on Hinduism both in history and in contemporary society. His publications include Swedish and Finnish translations of classic Sanskrit texts such as The Upanishads (with Martin Gansten, 2005) and The Yoga-Sutra (2010), but also text-critical editions – most recently Sanatana Goswamin’s Hari-bhakti-vilasa (2023). Broo has been a part of several projects dealing with contemporary religion and spirituality in India, and currently leads a project on yoga practitioners in Finland. He lives in Turku, Finland, with his wife, daughter and dog Frodo.
