Olav Hammer

Olav Hammer is Professor of the History of Religion at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense. He has published numerous books and articles on alternative forms of religion in the contemporary Western world, including New Age, new religious movements, Western esotericism and the relationship between religion and the sciences. Among his Swedish-language publications, his debut book På spaning efter helheten: New Age, en ny folktro? (1997; thoroughly revised second edition 2004) received significant acclaim.
