Per Stille is Associate Professor of Nordic Languages at Linnaeus University. He previously taught at Uppsala University and worked as an editor on the Swedish Academy Dictionary. His main research interest is runes and the history of runology. He has published several articles on Johan Bure, focusing on his studies of runes and language. Stille received his PhD from Uppsala University for his dissertation entitled Runstenar och runristare i Fjädrundaland: en studie i attribuering (1999), which examined the problem of how to determine that rune inscriptions were done by a particular scribe.
