Per Svensson is a political editor for the Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter and a writer. He was previously a senior columnist at Sydsvenskan and before that the editor-in-chief for culture at the evening paper Expressen. He grew up in the post-war suburb of Täby outside Stockholm and moved to Malmö in 1980. In books such as Storstugan (“The Living Room”), Svenska hem (“Swedish Homes”) and Malmö – världens svenskaste stad (“Malmö – the world’s most Swedish of cities”), Svensson has homed in on the interplay between ideology, politics and town planning, and Jane Jacobs is a very present source of inspiration in his work.
