Peter Elmlund

Peter Elmlund has a Bachelor of Science in economics and specialises in urban development.
Since 2002 he has led the Urban City Research programme as a director at Ax:son Johnson Foundation, a project that among other things provides support to a Masters course in sustainable urban design at the Faculty of Architecture School in Lund University – LTH (Lunds Tekniska Högskola) – and a research project about public space at the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, where he is a guest researcher in residence. The project, “The Future of Places”, which has developed into the Centre for the Future of Places at KTH, began as a collaboration between that foundation and UN Habitat, and its work has contributed to the content in “The New Urban Agenda”, which the member countries signed at the Habitat III meeting in 2016. Among other things, Elmlund has written Den välsignade tillväxten – tankelinjer kring ett århundrade av kapitalism, teknik, kultur och vetenskap (“Blessed Growth: Thoughts on a Century of capitalism, Technology, Culture and Science”), in cooperation with Kay Glans.
