Peter Haldén

Peter Haldén is a reader in war studies at the Swedish Defence University in Stockholm. He teaches military strategy at the Joint Advanced Command and Staff Programme. Haldén’s main research interests concern the formation and maintenance of political orders in Eurasia in the long term, the history of knowledge and social thought, contemporary strategic problems, and the role of geography in war and state formation. He recently edited the anthology The Baltic Sea: a Geopolitical History (2025).
