Quinlan Terry CBE is a British Classical architect specialising in high quality traditional buildings for private clients in the UK, Ireland and the US. His practice, Quinlan Terry Architects LLP is based in Dedham, Essex. His public work includes the development along the waterfront at Richmond Riverside, Queen Mother Square at Poundbury and Brentwood Cathedral, which was listed Grade II* in 2022. He has a keen interest in how traditional architecture contributes to the debate on sustainability and has lectured frequently on the subject. His books include The Layman’s Guide to Classical Architecture (2022); The Practice of Classical Architecture (2005–15); Radical Classicism (2006) and Architects Anonymous (1994). Quinlan Terry is a Fellow of the RIBA. He was a Rome Scholar in 1968/69 and from 1996 to 1998 he was a member of the Royal Fine Art Commission.
