Richard Bratby

Richard Bratby is Chief Classical Music Critic for the Spectator and writes for publications including Gramophone, Bachtrack, BBC Music Magazine, and The Critic. He previously served as Concerts Manager for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO). His books include Forward: 100 Years of the CBSO (2019), Classical Music: An Illustrated History (2022), and Refiner’s Fire: The Academy of Ancient Music and Historical Performance.
