Saskia Sassen

Saskia Sassen is Professor of Sociology at Columbia University, New York. Her research covers migration, urban conditions and the state in the globalised economy, with a particular focus on inequality, gender and digitalisation. Her books include The Global City: New York, London, Tokyo and Expulsions: Brutality and Complexity in the Global Economy, a detailed examination of the systems logic that enables deep economic divides and the destruction of natural resources.
