Thomas Kaiserfeld

Thomas Kaiserfeld has been professor of History of Science and Technology at The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, and professor of History of Ideas and Sciences at Lund University, after which he was appointed professor of Technology and Social Change at Linköping University in 2022.
His main research interests have been the interaction between technology and social institutions such as the military or the sciences, from the 18th century until today. Cases analysed stretch from the study of saltpetre production for military purposes in early modernity to the Swedish programmes for atomic weapons and nuclear power in the mid-20th century.
