Since then, he has been writing a book on reports of flying saucer sightings, with the provisional title Images of Elsewhere, which is near completion. Previous publications include Religion in English Everyday Life, The Life of Property: House, Family and Inheritance in Béarn, South-West France, and Of Flying Saucers and Social Scientists: A Re-Reading of When Prophecy Fails and of Cognitive Dissonance. He lives in Cambridge.
