Rolf Ekéus

Rolf Ekéus has served as a diplomat in Germany, Kenya, the UN, New York and the Netherlands. In 1997–2000, he was Swedish ambassador to the United States, and Excecutive Chair on UN Special Commission on Disarming Iraq in 1991–1997. He headed the Swedish delegation to the Conference on Disarmament, Geneva (1983–89) and to the European Security Conference, Vienna (1989–91). He was OSCE High Commissioner of National Minorities (2001-07) and remains active in the field of disarmament.
