Jerker Blomqvist

Jerker Blomqvist has held chairs of Greek and Classical philology at the universities of Copenhagen, Lund and Uppsala and worked in the Swedish Bible Translation Committee; he retired in 2004. His research mainly focuses on the history of the Greek language in antiquity, but his publications also treat other aspects of classical civilisation and its impact on European culture of later periods.
