On March 20, we held the seminar “Man and Reading: Aspects on a Life Changing Activity” at the van der Nootska Palace. Stina Otterberg Engdahl, who is the chief editor for the upcoming book, also moderated the seminar.
The seminar was a discussion about the role and significance of reading throughout history and in today’s digital era. Focusing on three sections of the book – ‘Signs, Writing, Reading’, ‘Holy Books’, and ‘Reading and Interpretation’ – bring together thought-provoking essays that are highly relevant today. Questions such as how reading is influenced by the digital world and whether listening to audiobooks can be considered reading were discussed. The seminar also shed light on the societal and cultural significance of reading.
Participants:
Ola Wikander, Kristoffer Leandoer, Julia Pennlert, Joel Halldorf, Bengt Jangfelt, Peter Luthersson, Rebecka Kärde och Anders Olsson.
