New Host and New Season of Stolpe Stories

In May, the sixth season of Stolpe Stories begins – a podcast on education and books covering art, culture, society and history. In the new season, one of our guests is literary scholar, author and critic Stina Otterberg Engdahl. She is currently the editor of the anthology Människan och läsandet: aspekter på en livsavgörande aktivitet (‘Man and Reading: Aspects on a Life Changing Activity’). The book features essays on topics such as the origin of written language and its correlation with the thought, the constant vulnerability of Russian author and how reading affects our perception of reality.
We will also meet author and historian Nils Johan Tjärnlund, who talks about the Sala silver mine, which is attracting new visitors this year as the town celebrates its 400th anniversary. Additionally, Dick Harrison discusses the pioneering historian Leopold von Ranke, and Svante Nordin talks about the author behind The Long Ships, Frans G. Bengtsson. Don’t miss Kerstin Brismar, one of the most prominent researchers on lifestyle diseases and longevity, who speaks about why sleep is so important.
The new host for the sixth season is Patrik Hadenius, linguist, museum investigator, and author:
– It is a luxury to read a book, learn something new, and then talk to the author about it. I look forward to many fun and educational conversations about everything from the first written languages and the origins of Satan to sleep and mine drawings.
Patrik Hadenius, who founded Språktidningen and has been the publishing director at Norstedts, is now working to establish a language museum in Stockholm.
Stolpe Stories is produced by Bokförlaget Stolpe and is a podcast focused on non-fiction books. Through the podcast, we tackle topics such as art, architecture, history, economics, politics and much more. A new episode is released every Friday – a few episodes available in English.
