On March 7, we organized the seminar Nutrition and Sleep: What advice can we give based on science? at Svenska Läkaresällskapet.

During the seminar, the importance of nutrition for our health and well-being was explored. Discussions revolved around how our diet can improve health conditions in chronic and inflammatory diseases, reduce the risk of cancer, promote a healthier gut flora, and lead to a longer and healthier life.

Nothing is as fundamental to our health as sleep. Deep sleep allows the brain to recover from all the impressions and experiences of the waking hours; cells are built up and strengthened during sleep. Prolonged sleep deprivation can have a wide range of undesirable consequences for the body and our health.

Under the guidance of Kerstin Brismar, these questions and topics were addressed and discussed with leading researchers in the fields of nutrition and sleep.
