Karl Berglund

He received his doctorate in 2017 for his thesis Mordens marknad: Litteratursociologiska studier i det tidiga 2000-talets svenska kriminallitteratur, in which he surveys and analyses the contemporary wave of Swedish detective novels from different perspectives. In his research, he has focused on the ties between literature and the book market, with subjects including publishing house and publication patterns, bestsellers, book covers, marketing of literary works and literary agents. He has recently also started to use data-based methods to analyse patterns in literature and literary society on a large scale.
