Niklas Eriksson

Eriksson specialises in maritime archaeology, and his research has to a large extent been based on shipwrecks. The work has led to the doctoral dissertation Urbanism under Sail: An Archaeology of fluit ships in Early Modern Everyday Life. He is also the author of Riksäpplet: arkeologiska perspektiv på ett bortglömt regalskepp [Riksäpplet: archaeological perspectives of a forgotten royal ship], in which he writes about how the historical description of the fleet’s defeat during the Scanian War affected maritime archaeology in connection with Riksäpplet and other wrecks.
