Per I Gedin worked in the publishing industry from 1953 to 1998, including as head of the book club Bokklubben Svalan, as founder of the publishing house Aldus and as publisher at Wahlström & Widstrand and Gedins Förlag.
Gedin has been actively involved with book industry issues as a long-time board member of the Swedish Publishers’ Association, serving as chairman from 1991 to 1993, and as a frequent contributor of opinion pieces to newspapers and trade publications. He has also written two books on the subject: Den nya boken: En presentation och analys av pocketboken and Litteraturen i verkligheten.
