Dr Victoria Ferentinou is Assistant Professor at the University of Ioannina where she teaches art theory and history of art.
Ferentinou has published peer-reviewed articles on international Surrealism, its theory and practice; feminist art, theory and criticism; and the intersections between occultism and modernism. Ferentinou is co-editor of Surrealism, Occultism and Politics: In Search of the Marvel-lous and the organiser of the international symposium Visual Ecotopias: History, Theory, Criticism that took place in the framework of the first Biennale of Western Balkans in 2018. For 2019-2020 she has been awarded a CHS-CCS Research Fellowship from the University of Harvard. Her research interests include modernist and avant-garde art theoretical discourses; the relation between word and image; feminist art theory and criticism; ecocriticism, ecoaesthetics and contemporary art.
