Who was the artist Anna Cassel?
In this episode of Stolpe Stories, we interview Hedvig Martin Ahlén, one of the authors of the recently released book Anna Cassel – The Saga of the Rose. This is the first of two episodes about Anna Cassel with Hedvig Martin Ahlén recorded in English.
Until now, Swedish artist Anna Cassel (1860–1937) has primarily been known as a friend and supporter of Hilma af Klint. But new research shows that her role was far more significant than previously assumed. The new book Anna Cassel – The Saga of the Rose contains works that have not previously been shown and reveals an art historical discovery that yet again reminds us of the complex and fascinating story of Hilma af Klint and her artistic collaborators.
