Francis Gavin är Giovanni Agnelli Distinguished Professor och chef för Henry A. Kissinger Center for Global Affairs vid Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
År 2021 utsågs han till Ernest May Senior Visiting Fellow of the Applied History Project vid Harvards Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. Gavin är författare till Gold, Dollars, and Power: The Politics of International Monetary Relations, 1958–1971 och Nuclear Weapons and American Grand Strategy.
